- What did you find most appealing in Jake and Kate? What made them engaging characters?
- Who was your favorite side character? Why?
- Which of these elements in the story did you find the most enjoyable: the flashbacks, the current events, or the dialogue? What made it stand out for you?
- How did Jake’s presentation differ from or mirror what you know of real ministers?
- Did the depictions of a minister’s intimate relations with his wife affect your response to the story? In what way?
- This novella was significantly revised and updated to include more of Jake’s side of the story. Did you find it fairly balanced between his and Kate’s perspectives? If you read “A Very Pregnant Christmas”, which was the original title of this book when it appeared in a
