- When the story begins, Kelsey has become her niece’s caretaker and is unsure of her ability to be a mother. What are some words of encouragement you can provide for a new mom?
- How are Mia and Morgan different in the story?
- Morgan is quiet and withdrawn. How did it make you feel to see her open up to her sister?
- The two sisters became instant friends. Do you have that relationship with your sibling? How can you foster that relationship with your sibling if that is not the case?
- One of the inspirations for this novel was the TV show, Sister Sister. If you watched the show, what did you think of the opening scene where the sisters meet for the first time?
- Kelsey and Zach came together because of their children but then they began to develop a friendship of their own. Talk about how their friendship grew and what you think are the necessary qualities in a good friend.
- Zach’s relationship with God became rocky upon his wife’s death. Do you understand why he felt the way he did? What advice can you provide for someone dealing with grief?
- Talk about how Kelsey’s confidence changed from the beginning of the story until the end. Were there things that surprised you? Frustrated you?
- Kelsey had two amazing friends. Talk about the power of friendship and how friends can be a source of support.

MOTHER FOR A MONTH
- Sienna and Joel are rivals. Talk about their rivalry and those scenes that made this story enjoyable to read. How did their interaction with each other change?
- Sienna and Joel agreed to fake-date. Do you agree with their decision? Reflect on the weddings they attended together. Which wedding left a heartfelt reaction with you as the reader.
- As the title suggests, Sienna became a mother for a month. Do you think you could have opened your heart to a baby that you knew wouldn’t be with you permanently?
